Discovering linen with elodieguidelocal
Some encounters give meaning. A few days ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming Élodie and Pierre to Valliquerville to discover linen. They are the creators of the Instagram account @elodieguidelocal, passionate about local heritage, craftsmanship, and great stories.
Their mission? To share engaging and educational content with their community, focusing on what makes our regions rich.
🎥 For this visit, they chose to dedicate an episode to an emblematic fiber: linen, a millennial textile plant, deeply rooted in our Norman culture and, more broadly, in French history.
Linen: between past and future
During their visit, Élodie and Pierre delved into the heart of the French linen industry, from the plant in the fields to the modern uses of this 100% natural, biodegradable, and renewable material.
Through discussions with our team, they traced the major stages of linen transformation, while also addressing significant historical facts, such as the use of linen in the Bayeux Tapestry or its key role in the rise of the textile industry in France.
This immersive episode showcases linen in all its facets: local culture, technical material, a resource for the future... It highlights the richness of this exceptional fiber, its positive environmental impacts, and the women and men who enhance its value every day.
An engaged video, reflecting their values
The result? A lively, accessible, and inspiring video that tells the story of linen with pedagogy and authenticity.

During the shoot, Élodie and Pierre braved the heat of the moment by wearing our Gabriel t-shirt and Solène cap, made from 100% French linen, crafted locally with care and precision, which we are pleased to see featured in the video.
A sartorial nod to our approach: promoting responsible fashion, respectful of the planet, know-how, and the people who contribute to it.
Transmitting is acting 🌱
This encounter perfectly illustrates what we love about our profession: to transmit a story, share knowledge, and raise awareness for more responsible consumption.
We warmly thank Élodie and Pierre for their kind perspective, their curiosity, and the beautiful spotlight they cast on our linen industry.
Because understanding the material is already a first step towards an informed, sustainable, and committed purchase 💚
